About SK8 4KIDS
More than skateboarding, we're building futures for El Paso youth.
Our Founder
Luis "Dino" Loya knows firsthand how skateboarding can save a life. After experiencing homelessness as a teenager, it was the discipline, creativity, and community of skateboarding that gave him purpose and direction.
In 2023, Dino founded SK8 4KIDS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to give back what skateboarding gave him—hope, belonging, and a path forward. What started as informal sessions at a local park has grown into a full community organization serving hundreds of youth.
Our Mission
To be a charitable and educational organization fostering amateur sports competition and to promote social welfare of youths in underserved communities.
To combat juvenile delinquency by fostering deep social connections with other youths through team building and mentoring through skateboarding.
To financially support youths through their journey of learning and developing new social & mental skills with skateboarding sports.
To help High School students earn community service hours for graduation through the cleaning of community parks and mentoring of small children.
Our Team
SK8 4KIDS is powered by a team of passionate volunteer coaches, community members, and supporters who believe every kid deserves a chance to thrive.
Our coaches dedicate their time to teaching skateboarding skills while mentoring youth through life's challenges. They're role models who show kids that with dedication and support, anything is possible.
